Newcomers: welcome on board!

You are coming on board for the first time? Then please note the following rules: When embarking ensure you wear a hard hat. They are available near the gangway. First report to the medic who will take your passport, seamans book and safety and medical certificates. You will then be provided with the key of your cabin and an ISPS card. You will also be asked if you have any objection to publish your pass photo, name and rank on the Nordnes crew site. In the meeting room you will be shown a video presentation about safety and house rules. First opportunity you will be given a safety induction. Please take some newspapers and cigarettes or tobacco etc. with you. Your colleagues onboard will be very appreciative for that. Because of custom restrictions the onboard bond is only open infrequently. Occasionally personnel is transferred by crew tender. The vessel crew will assist you with embarking and your luggage. Assure that you wear a life jacket during transfer, the vessel crew will provide those once required. |
